No time to visit the Alps?
No problem!
Hello. I'm Roland. Welcome to "hikezurich.ch".
I grew up and live in Zurich with my wife and kids. As a former world traveler and enthusiastic hiker, I would love to show you the adventurous side of Zurich's local mountain. The Üetliberg.
465 meters of elevation gain (first third of the hike)
396 meters of elevation loss (last third of the hike)
During the ascent, we will pass old “mountaineering huts.” These date back to a time when city dwellers had neither the money nor the time to go to the Swiss Alps and therefore practiced climbing and hiking on the Üetliberg.
After the ascent: Easy walk to the “Top of Zurich” viewpoint.
The descent then becomes a little more adventurous again.
Pure hiking time: approx. 2.5 to 3 hours
Total duration with photo stops and short breaks: approx. 3.5 to 4 hours
